Guided gym planning

A clear strength plan you can trust.

Structured workouts — without constant second-guessing.

GymBuddy: Guided Strength helps you build a balanced program, keep individual workouts manageable, and move forward week by week. You record what you actually complete, and the app keeps that history intact while adjusting only future sessions.

How the plan works

Not a random workout list

Your plan considers movement patterns, available equipment, suitable starting weights, and balanced training across the week.

Designed for gym-goers with some experience

You already know your way around the gym but want a realistic program you can follow for the next 4–12 weeks.

Conservative adaptation

Completed workouts stay unchanged. GymBuddy: Guided Strength uses what you actually did to adjust future workouts.

When more exercise is not better

Do you keep rearranging exercises or adding more because the plan never feels like enough? The result is often a crowded workout, more fatigue, and progress that is still difficult to see.

GymBuddy: Guided Strength gives you a clear weekly plan to follow step by step — without having to rebuild it after every doubt.

A balanced program

Programs are built around eight movement categories, helping you train the whole body without filling each session with a random collection of exercises.

Enough work, without overload

GymBuddy: Guided Strength considers how demanding each exercise is and limits both the overall session load and the number of highly demanding movements.

Cautious adaptation

After each completed week, GymBuddy: Guided Strength uses your actual sets, reps, loads, and feedback to adjust future workouts. If the evidence is limited, the plan stays stable.

Progress comes from intention, regular training, and consistency — not from rebuilding the plan after every doubt. GymBuddy: Guided Strength helps you see the work you have done and keep moving forward.

Frequently asked questions

Is GymBuddy: Guided Strength free?

Yes. The app is free to download on Google Play.

Which phones does it work on? Is there an iPhone version?

It works on Android phones with Android 7.0 or later. Google Play shows whether your phone is compatible before you install.

An internet connection is needed for your account and sync.

iPhone is not supported.

Who is it for? Is it suitable for complete beginners?

It is designed primarily for gym-goers with some experience: you already know exercises such as the leg press, lat pulldown, dumbbell press or Romanian deadlift, but want a balanced, realistic plan for the next 4–12 weeks.

Complete beginners can use it too.

Based on your onboarding answers, the app places you on one of six training levels, from Fresh Start to Experienced & Skilled, and uses it to choose an appropriate program structure, more cautious for newer lifters.

Your level is reviewed every six months.

Every exercise has a plain-language card (Setup, Movement, What to watch), but the app cannot assess your technique in real time, so in-person coaching is still the best way to learn it.

How is it different from a workout log?

Most logging apps record sets and weights but expect you to already know which program to follow.

GymBuddy: Guided Strength starts one step earlier: it builds the plan from your experience, schedule and equipment, then records what you actually did.

How is it different from a random workout generator?

Workouts are not reshuffled every session.

The program is built around eight movement categories and limits both total session load and the number of highly demanding movements.

It changes only after a completed week — cautiously, based on your actual sets, reps, loads and feedback.

Does it replace a personal trainer?

No. It gives you a structured plan and keeps track of your progress, but it does not watch your technique or assess your health.

Please read the Fitness & Medical Disclaimer before you start.

Can I change a planned workout?

Yes. You can lower a weight, add a set or replace an exercise.

The app keeps both the planned workout and what you actually did, and completed workouts are never changed afterwards.

Do I need specific equipment?

The app is designed for training in a gym. During setup you mark which equipment is available, and the plan takes it into account.

Do I need an account? Can I delete my data?

Yes, an account is needed for cloud sync. You can sign in with email and password or with Google.

You can request account deletion at any time; the Privacy Policy explains what is removed and what is kept and for how long.

Which languages are available?

The app and this website are available in English and Russian.
